Dennis Hendrickson is a seasoned commercial property and risk management professional with a career spanning mortgage finance, insurance, and real estate operations. His expertise uniquely bridges every stage of the property lifecycle—from financing and underwriting to ownership, insurance, and day-to-day asset management.

Dennis began his career while in college, working alongside a group of apartment developers, where he gained firsthand exposure to multifamily development and operations. After graduating, he entered the wholesale mortgage arena, specializing in automated underwriting for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. His early work in mortgage underwriting and loan structuring built a strong foundation in credit analysis, deal evaluation, and financial modeling.

He later founded and operated his own mortgage company, before being recruited by SunTrust Bank (now Truist) to expand his lending expertise. Following his time in banking, Dennis launched his own commercial insurance agency, where he continues to oversee comprehensive risk management programs for property owners and businesses across Florida.

During that period, Dennis also managed a $100 million portfolio of commercial shopping centers and medical office buildings, totaling more than 235,000 square feet and 92 tenants, with monthly rental collections approaching $300,000. His responsibilities covered every aspect of operations—including lease creation and renewal, rent collection, construction management, common area maintenance, insurance procurement, budgeting, and capital improvement planning.

Today, Dennis leverages his combined background in commercial real estate, risk management, and finance to pursue the acquisition and long-term management of multi-tenant retail and shopping centers in Florida’s growth markets. His unique blend of operational, financial, and insurance expertise provides a full-spectrum understanding of both the opportunity and the risk within every commercial property investment.

Through Hendrickson Capital, Dennis is now focused on building a fund that acquires well-located shopping centers—anchored and non-anchored alike—with the goal of delivering stable cash flow, investor protection, and sustainable long-term value.
